  • To get a tattoo in California, you must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid state or federal-issued photo ID. Parents cannot sign for you to get a tattoo. Per California Penal Code 653 PC, tattoos cannot be given the day before your 18th birthday.

  • Yes, appointments are required and are available six days a week by filling out the booking form.

A retainer is required to secure the appointment. Retainers are non-refundable and will be applied toward the cost of the tattoo. Retainers can be paid in person, or an invoice can be sent through the scheduling software. Retainers must be paid within 24 hours of being issued; otherwise, the date and time will not be held.

A minimum of 72 hours notice is required for any cancellations or rescheduling. Appointments can be changed or canceled by calling, texting, or messaging the artist at (916) 243-0717. To carry over your retainer, a new booking must be made at the time of cancellation, provided the minimum 72 hours notice is given. If a cancellation or reschedule occurs with less than 72 hours notice, the retainer will be forfeited, and a new retainer will be required for the next appointment. Retainers cannot be transferred to another customer but can be transferred to another appointment as long as they are not subject to forfeiture.

  • Not everyone requires a consultation, and the artist will determine if it is needed during booking. Consultation appointments are free and typically last up to 30 minutes. Booking a consultation can take anywhere from 1 day to 3 weeks, depending on the current workload. Fill out the booking form and make sure to upload your ideas and styles in the booking form.

  • Walk-ins are accepted only if there is sufficient time to provide a quality tattoo without rushing. Typically, walk-ins are welcomed from 12 PM to 6 PM on Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Sunday. Call beforehand to make sure I am at the studio that day (916) 243-0717. If immediate accommodation isn't possible, an appointment can often be scheduled by filling out the booking form.

  • The cost of a tattoo varies based on several factors, including size, style, body area, design complexity, artist, etc. It is important to remember that good tattoos are an investment. Bargain tattoos often result in unsatisfactory work, leading to additional costs for cover-ups or hiding the tattoo. Tips are not required but are appreciated as a compliment on a job well done.

  • A $100 retainer is required (applied towards the cost of the tattoo), with a rate of $200 per hour and a $200 minimum. Hard estimates are not provided, but approximate time estimates can be given during a consultation or when booking your appointment based on the drawing, size, location, design complexity, etc. Quotes are not provided over the phone or email. Clients with budget constraints should mention their price threshold during the consultation for honest feedback.

Artists are flexible with budgets, but they prioritize the quality and integrity of their work. If a compromise affects the artwork, they will not make the change. If suitable adjustments aren't feasible, consider saving for the full design. Artists aim to provide top-notch tattoos, reflecting their expertise and craftsmanship. Remember, investing in permanent art is a thoughtful commitment. Their pricing reflects years of experience, not just the time spent on the design.

  • The custom tattoo investment starts at $200 per hour, with a minimum charge of $200. A $100 retainer is required to secure the appointment. This retainer is non-refundable and will be applied toward the cost of the tattoo. After the session, an additional $100 will be needed to meet the $200 minimum.

  • No. The price reflects the quality of the work. During your consultation, mention any budget constraints to receive honest feedback.

  • Cash, credit cards, and debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo are accepted.

  • No, only cash, credit cards, and debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo are accepted.

  • The duration of a tattoo varies based on factors such as size, style, the area of the body you want covered, design complexity, etc.

For example, a large backpiece will take multiple sessions, much like Rome wasn't built in a day. It might be more beneficial to have longer sessions rather than splitting your piece into many shorter ones, depending on your endurance.

It's essential to discuss with the artist to get a rough estimate of how long the process will take and the associated costs during a free consultation. Make sure to schedule extra time for your appointment, in case design changes are needed or the application takes longer than expected.

  • Tattoos are permanent but can fade over time. To keep them looking their best, apply sunscreen daily and get touch-ups every few years, depending on how well they age. Generally, blackwork and black & grey tattoos fade less quickly compared to color tattoos, which may require more frequent touch-ups.

  • All designs will be shown on the day of the appointment. Extra time is allotted for minor changes on the appointment day. It's beneficial to familiarize yourself with the artist's body of work to ensure their style matches what you are looking for. Including reference photos of the artist’s work can help convey your desired outcome.

  • Bringing your own artwork or references is encouraged to help create a custom tattoo. The more ideas, the better. Personal drawings might need to be reworked based on their ability to translate into a durable and aesthetic tattoo. The goal is to produce tattoos that meet your needs while addressing design issues necessary for a tattoo to last and look good over a lifetime. This is your tattoo, and the aim is for you to be completely satisfied with it.

  • Yes. Certain tattoos will not be done, including but not limited to:

    ·      Side of finger tattoos

    ·      Palm of hand tattoos

    ·      Ashes incorporated into a tattoo

    ·      Glow-in-the-dark, UV, or blacklight tattoos

    ·      PMU (Permanent MakeUp) or cosmetic tattooing

    ·      Scleral tattooing (tattooing the white part of the human eye)

    ·      The inside of the lip

    ·       Gang tattoos

    ·       Blatantly obscene tattoos

    ·       Genital tattoos

    ·       Hate-based and racist tattoos

    ·       Tattoos that promote negativity, such as "white pride" or "brown pride," will not be done as they are contrary to a positive and inclusive philosophy.

  • Incorporating ashes into tattoo ink is not a service I offer. While this practice can hold significant sentimental value, the potential health risks and complications make it unsuitable for my services.

  • I do not provide glow-in-the-dark, UV, or blacklight tattoos. These specialized inks come with potential long-term health effects and are challenging to work with under standard lighting conditions, making them unsuitable for my professional standards.

  • Probably. A consultation is typically needed to determine the imagery required to adequately cover the old tattoo. There is a difference between a cover-up and a new tattoo placed over an old one. Commonly covered tattoos include "bargain" tattoos and significant other names. For more information, refer to "How much does a tattoo cost?"

  • This depends on the severity and maturity of the scar. Generally, a scar should be at least one year old, and a consultation is recommended to decide if tattooing over it is feasible.

  • Please ensure that you fill out the digital release form upon your arrival for your appointment. There is a QR coade at the front desk to scan. You can view the form online, but kindly refrain from printing it out as it must be completed digitally. If the form is printed and brought in, it will need to be filled out again electronically. Thank you for your understanding. RELEASE FORM

The release form and aftercare instructions will be emailed to you. Please bring a valid state or federal-issued photo ID to the appointment, as it is necessary to honor the appointment.

  • Pain varies from person to person and depends on the tattooed area. Post-tattoo, it may feel like a bad sunburn, with normal symptoms including swelling, redness, and tenderness for several days. Various factors can influence the experience positively or negatively.

  • Pain perception varies, but the most painful areas typically include the head, hand/fingers, ribcage, sternum, foot/ankle, inside of the wrist, inside of the arm, inner thigh, nipples, and armpit. Despite the pain, many find it to be worth it.

  • Latex products or gloves are not used. All products are latex-free.

  • Please bring only one support person, if necessary. The goal is to create a focused and calm environment for both you and the artist.

  • For the health and safety of both your child and the clientele, children are not allowed in the building. This includes babies, children, and minors under 18. The studio may have elements inappropriate for children, such as nudity or adult language.

  • Pets are not allowed inside the studio, as per the Placer County Public Health's Safe Body Art Act. Although furry friends are loved, they cannot be accommodated at the tattoo studio.

  • Preparing for your tattoo session is essential to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Here are some tips to help you get ready:

    ·       Bring Identification: Ensure you have a valid state or federal-issued photo ID. This is necessary for age verification and paperwork. Expired IDs cannot be accepted, so please come prepared.

    ·       Adhere to the Cancellation Policy: Please provide a minimum of 72 hours notice for cancellations and reschedules to allow for proper scheduling adjustments.

    ·       Maintain Good Hygiene: Bathe or shower before your appointment and avoid using perfumes and scented lotions to prevent potential irritations.

    ·       Prioritize Your Health: Make sure you are well-rested, hydrated, and have eaten within two to four hours before your appointment. Healthy clients typically heal better.

    ·       Bring Snacks and Water: Bringing some water and snacks can help you stay comfortable and maintain energy during your session.

    ·       Avoid Alcohol: Refrain from consuming alcohol the night before your appointment as it can thin the blood and make the tattoo process more challenging.

    ·       Charge Your Devices: Ensure your phone or tablet is fully charged before arriving. This allows you to stay entertained and connected, especially during longer sessions.

    ·       Arrive Early: Give yourself enough time to get to the studio without any rush. Avoid scheduling travel on the same day to feel relaxed and unhurried.

    ·       Dress Comfortably: Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed and comfortable for an extended period. Consider bringing a change of clothes in case of ink transfer.

    ·       Leave the Entourage at Home: While bringing friends or family might seem helpful, coming alone can create a more focused and calm environment for you and the artist.

    ·       Check-In at the Front Desk: Upon arrival, check in at the front desk, scan the QR code for your artist, and complete the consent form. Feel free to ask any questions before the session begins.

    ·       Meet Your Artist: The introduction will take place in a welcoming environment. This is the perfect time to discuss any concerns and review the design. Information will be provided throughout the process to keep you informed and comfortable.

Following these guidelines will help ensure a positive tattooing experience, promoting quicker healing and overall satisfaction.

  • It is ideal to eat within two to four hours before the appointment. Stable blood sugar levels support the immune system and help manage the endorphin fluctuations that occur during the tattoo process.

  • It is not recommended to consume alcohol before a tattoo appointment, as it can complicate the process and affect the final results.

  • It is strongly urged to wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding. The physical stress of tattooing is not advisable during this time, as it can impact the health of both mother and baby.

  • If you are getting your arm tattooed, or another particularly hairy part of your body, the area might need to be shaved beforehand, similar to preparation for surgery. Feel free to ask in advance if you should shave; not all tattoos require it.

  • Please communicate before using any numbing creams. Some brands can negatively affect your tattoo. Most artists offer numbing agents during your session to help manage pain if needed.

  • The highest standards of cleanliness and sterilization techniques are maintained, as dictated by the California State Health Licensing Department. Look around and trust your instincts. The artist's supplies should be sterile, single-use, and disposable. Frequent changing of gloves during the tattoo process is also a must. Smoking, eating, and pets are restricted on the premises.

  • The studio uses disposable and single-use pre-sterilized instruments where applicable, including needles and tubes. All surfaces and equipment are thoroughly cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectant and covered with disposable, single-use plastic covers for each tattoo session.

  • Yes, one complimentary touchup is included within six months (6 months) of the tattoo appointment and is only against artist defects. If the skin didn't take to the color as well or any spot may have been missed due to swelling of the skin, etc., after the tattoo session, it will be covered. After 6 months, any touchups will be charged at the artist's hourly rate.

To book a touchup, please call, text, or email.

Tattoos on fingers, palms of the hands, sides of feet, and bottoms of feet tend to fade quickly and are not covered under free touchups.

Touchups that are not against artist defects due to improper care, normal fading, sun exposure, the passage of time, or self-inflicted damage are not covered. Properly caring for a tattoo is essential to prevent it from fading.

  • Listen to the artist! Not friends or family. Follow all of the aftercare instructions provided. Proper aftercare directly affects how the tattoo turns out in the long run.

    Tips:

    ·       Tattoos fade faster when exposed to sunlight. Opt for a spot not regularly exposed to sunlight or use sunblock with 30+ SPF.

    ·       Stick to short showers and avoid baths or any body of water (including oceans and lakes) for at least two weeks after getting the tattoo.

    ·       Stay out of saunas, hot tubs, pools, lakes, oceans, and ponds to prevent infection.

    ·       Avoid strenuous activities that cause excessive sweating, like working out.

  • Any form of tanning, whether under the sun or in a tanning bed, can damage and fade a tattoo. For sun worshipers, an SPF 30+ sunblock is recommended. It's best to stay out of the sun and tanning booths, especially during the healing process.

  • If all aftercare instructions provided by the artist are followed, it will take about two weeks for a tattoo to completely heal. Some body parts take a little longer to heal because of friction or constant use. Tattoos on the torso where shirts, bras, and pants can constrict and where pivotal movement is constant can also take longer to heal. Areas of the body with natural seams, like elbows and knees, can also take more time.

  • Scabbing, flaking, peeling, and dryness are all natural parts of the healing process. Severe scabs that are deep and thick may indicate the need to change the aftercare routine and should be addressed with the tattoo artist.

  • More often than not, what is perceived as an infection is actually an irritation. Allergic reactions or infections are extremely rare when following all aftercare instructions. If there is a concern, please talk with the artist. If an actual infection occurs, a physician or dermatologist should be consulted to ensure proper care and treatment.

Please refer to the Tattoo Aftercare Instructions.
